This research into online support groups is based at University College London. The team includes:

Jeremy Dean (primary contact)

Jeremy is a researcher at UCL, currently working towards a PhD, having previously completed an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology at the same institution.

His research interests are in the use of online support groups for depression and anxiety. He is the first point of contact for any questions you might have about the research.

Dr Chris Barker

Chris BarkerChris is a Reader in Clinical Psychology at UCL and a Clinical Psychologist.

His research interests are in clinical applications of social support, self-help/mutual-support groups (including online support groups), doctor-patient communication and client-therapist interaction.

Dr Henry Potts

Henry is a lecturer in Health Informatics at UCL.

His main research interests are in e-health: approaches to the enhancement of clinical care and its delivery, online peer support groups and the transformative effect of technology on how healthcare is delivered.

Dr Nancy Pistrang

Nancy is a Reader in Clinical Psychology at UCL and a Clinical Psychologist.

Her research interests are in psychological helping, in particular that provided by non-professionals: analysis of dyadic communication in the helping process (e.g., couples communication); mutual support groups; empathy.
